Interface for Rule Setting. Simplified voucher

V2.42 'Hints'

minute, as well as blocking child for the day..
V2.46 Fixed
bug where sometimes a entering daily limit of over 4H15M would result
in the wrong value being stored.
V2.47
'Factory Reset' for program categories. Removed some extraneous
messages. More predefined Web page titles (Existing users note: because
we don't overwrite your page title settings on update, we will email
you instructions for those who have not set up their own list yet).
V2.48 Move to Windows Installer. Obscure 'use vouchers'
vulnerability fixed. Some small housekeeping changes.
V2.49 Block

expired old version.

V2.50.3 Rule setting +
vouchers across the home network
V2.50.4 Tweaked
permissions on shared files, show Network help on file errors,
,prevent attempting upgrade from pre 2.50 without running
conversion utility, which can cause problems..
V2.52.0 More
resilient to Network Errors
V2.52.1 Show
Category on kid's 'time nearly up' message. Show matching keyword when
browser shut because of page-title match. Fix
for 'No users found' Error on some non-networked enabled systems
V2.52.2 Fix
for 'Counters file unavailable' error experienced by some users.
2.56.6 Many
extra
(optional) anti-tampering measures for those with particularly smart
and naughty children - eg the option of setting Windows policies on
children's accounts, closing any program not there when parent last
scanned, etc. Extra few minutes at end of allowed time for
kids
to save work or game, with reminder to do so. Digitally
signed
download.
2.56.7 Some
extra anti-tampering... alert in log, and logs them off, if
they do something very bad!
2.56.8 Max
Anti-Tmper also uses Windows policies to stop the Add/Remove programs
dialog.
2.60.0
'Roaming' children
supported. Export/Import rules. 'Lock user' (Windows-L) and
Fast
User Switching pause child's time.
OpenOffice
(and other .BIN applications) categorisation works. Handles network
errors more gracefully.
Bug fixes: Fixed 'Change Clock and don't click OK '
exploit..Screensavers not killed when 'ban anything not on list' ticked.
2.63.0
Non-Roaming - Confusing error messages caused by
PC on network without PIC-PC present have been fixed. Roaming:
If 'Master PC' is offline, child gets screen locked after chance to
enter parent password, instead of getting logged off. Child can
continue when master PC back online.
2.64 Fixed: Wrong heading on parental override dialog when outside slot. FUS did
not always pause time counter.
2.65
Allowing exemptions to the overall time limits for 'always allowed'
and 'creative' categories. Force wizard use for first run.
2.71 Take-a-Break setting.
Logoff/Lock/Shutdown option at time-up. Instant Override / 'Peek
over Shoulder' dialog. Improved banner information. Snapshot viewer.
Kid's option for warning preferences. Close tab on browser instead of
browser when 'mapped' category is banned. Speedier and responsive
scan dialog. Full scan now default. More improvements to Network
error handling.
2.73 Prevent 'aborted
logoff' exploit: If max anti-tamper is set, all logoffs /shutdowns are
converted to 'forced' by PIC-PC, and cannot be aborted. Better
handling of complex directory structures on initial scan.
2.74 Removed above 'aborted
logoff' fix, replaced with 'friendlier' alternative solution. PIC-PC
now shuts down after all other apps.
2.76. Removed support for 'PIC-PC logon option' - Children must now have a Windows account (this was not widely used, and made product more complicated). Vista/W7 no UAC prompts for most parent activities. More Windows Policy' restrictions including hiding clock. Clock tamper software detection no longer false triggers on some PCs. Password hint on rules program.
Many parent actions (rule setting etc.) can now be done from restricted/limited rights account with password protection. Password hint added..
2.78 Solved several Vista/W7 problems suffered in last release that evaded our testing due to major SNAFU on our part.
2.79 Fixed occasional inconsistent program categorisation scan results due to 'reparse point' recursion (thanks, Microsoft). This lead to occasional 'too many files/directories' messages.
2.80 Improved 'first-run' wizard.
2.84 Browser Helper object for IE for improved Facebook monitoring.
2.85 Keylogging and Facebook BHO now work in IE protected mode. Log display improved (some settings produced out-of-order lists before). Snapshot viewer: Left and right arrows move between screenshots. Enter or + key loads image into default viewer/editor.
2.86: Fix for bug where it was possible to create a password that was never accepted. Fix for bug where PIC-PC missed return from screensaver, and stopped counting kids time (with associated 1-minute beeps).
3.00. PIC-PC logon option re-instated for those that - against our advice - don't want multiple Windows accounts. Network problems and PCs going offline no longer cause lengthy 'hangs' during rule setting and log viewing over a network..Improved first-run wizard.
