Just want to limit FaceBook use and/or restrict overall PC time?Click here for details of our new PIC-FB/Lite FaceBook control software for under GBP £10 USD $16 |
PIC-PC is designed for people who want something more sophisticated than the usual "block this / ban
that"
or simple 'PC Time Limiter' parental control software. For example, while you can use it to 'block' Facebook say, you can also use it to limit Facebook or limit YouTube use to certain times of day, or for a maximum total time per day or per week. The same applies to limiting time on other web sites - online games perhaps - or programs that run from disk. We think banning Facebook is like banning the telephone, but now you can put in time limits so they have time for other things too. Of course if you want to block Facebook, Windows Messenger or other IM
programs (or web sites) altogether you can. The unique ability to differentiate both
programs
and internet use; into games,
chat, educational, etc., as well as just 'banned' or 'allowed' gives
you the control you need, by
treating each activity differently, with different time limits and
different levels of monitoring for any activity you are concerned about. You can limit games (online and offline), FaceBook or Chat etc., without limiting
educational use of the PC. You can limit overall PC use while making some programs or web sites exempt - eg. using MS 'Word' for writing an essay doen't count towards their overall PC time limit. There is flexibility too, with the ability to set different limits at weekends and holidays.
Our unique Time-Rewards system lets you reward them without handing over money!
There are comprehensive child-monitoring options if you need them , including real-time screen views, 'time-lapse replay' screen capture, key logging and stealth mode, plus some IM/Chat safety features (that can work on web-based chat too!) including a chat-room censor that you can configure for yourself.
This
software is aimed at parents who are not
only worried about on-line dangers but about their children
being turned into bad-tempered zombies by too much supposedly 'safe'
computer time.
In addition to using
control
mechanisms (e.g. restrict IM and web chat to times you are around) and
the monitoring features - we have one more trick up our sleeve:- You can set up a
list of keywords (e.g. your street name,
your
phone no.) and if your child types them during a defined activity
(typically IM / Chat) PIC-PC will delete what the child has typed
before it is sent, and send instead: "WARNING, THIS CONVERSATION IS
BEING MONITORED". It will also snapshot the current IM/ Web
Chat
window, so you can see the context later.
